Visionär & FeldKino Go TanzTangente

Visionär is joining forces with FeldKino and TanzTangente to present great cinema in a small format… and open air!

A not-to-be-missed opportunity to be all together again, under the Berlin skies, enjoying good company and in a welcoming atmosphere with film pearls selected with the Visionär touch – and considering that physical distances and hygienic measures will be taken according to the current health regulations.

The program of these two summer appointments is focused on queer viewpoints in Berlin and female* bodies. On the 6th of August at 8:45 pm, two short films set in Berlin will explore a queer thematic using a different technique and approach: Butterflies in Berlin by Monica Manganelli (animation) and Apollo&Artemisia by Savio Debernardis (fiction).

– Butterflies in Berlin follows Alex, who looks for his place in the world and his sexual identity in Berlin during the Weimar Republic period (1932). He becomes the first out-of-surgery transsexual in history, which unfortunately happens during the rise of National-Socialism – a social disruption that turned the capital of sexual freedom in the most repressed country of all times.

– Apollo&Artemisia, inspired by the childhood of the Greek Gods Apollo and Artemis, delves into young Apollo’s mind as he tries to find his place living at the circus. His mother is too busy dancing in the shows and trying to integrate into the Circus troupe, and Apollo doesn’t feel very welcome there. In order to escape the brutality of his life, he builds his own image of the world helped by his friend Artemisia. They create new narratives of reality through the games they play – until a violent event brings Apollo abruptly back to the toughness of his life.
